ABOUT GAYA JI

Gaya, the second-largest city in Bihar, India, is steeped in cultural heritage and history, surrounded by hills and situated along the holy river Falgu. This city holds significant mythological importance, as it is mentioned in Hindu epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata. According to legend, Lord Rama, along with Sita and Lakshmana, visited Gaya to perform PIND DAAN for his departed father, Dashratha, establishing Gaya as a divine destination for this ritual. Gaya is renowned as a spiritual center for Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains alike, with its cultural richness deeply rooted in its religious significance. The city is famous for its association with Lord Buddha’s enlightenment, which took place under the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, a town within the Gaya district, making it a key pilgrimage site for Buddhists worldwide. Additionally, Gaya is known for the sacred ritual of PIND DAAN , practiced since ancient times, where Hindus offer Pinds for the peace of their ancestors’ souls.
